The historic town of Dartmouth is an 11 mile drive, and the bustling market town of Kingsbridge 8 miles away both with shops, restaurants, cafes and cinemas. Salcombe can be reached by the foot ferry from East Portlemouth, or by road a little further past Kingsbridge, and bohemian Totnes is a hive of independent shops, and has a popular Christmas market along with good rail links.
