Welcome to Dol Bach and ideal choice for your next long weekend or midweek break.
This lovely, mid-terraced holiday cottage is tucked away in the centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Delightfully restored, the cottage offers comfortable accommodation whilst retaining some of the original features. In the open plan living/dining room you can relax over breakfast whilst planning your days out, or curl up on the corner sofa with a glass of wine in front of the electric wood burner – perfect for relaxing on a chilly evening. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to whip up a tasty meal. Upstairs there are two well-presented bedrooms and a stylish bathroom. This really is an attractive holiday home which is lovingly maintained and beautifully presented throughout. To the front of the cottage there is a small courtyard with seating where you relax in the sun whilst enjoying a morning coffee.
Just opposite is a unique cafe/bar which is housed in the old county police station - a fascinating building! Within a couple of minutes' walk is the town centre, offering a variety of shops and cafes. The famous Ffestiniog Railway is also just a short walk away, where you can take a memorable trip on a narrow gauge steam train through spectacular scenery down to the coast at Porthmadog. For the adrenaline junkies, there is Zip World where you can experience the world's largest zip wire zone, and Bounce Below where you can bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern the size of St Paul's Cathedral (don't worry, they'll give you a hard hat just in case!).
To the south lies Harlech with its Edward I castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, brooding over the town, whilst the quirky Italianate village of Portmeirion, made famous as the location where ‘The Prisoner' was filmed, is well worth a visit. To the north lies Snowdon – at 3,560ft it's higher than any other mountain in Wales or England, but you can take the train to the top if you wish! You'll also find the little village of Dolwyddelan and the tourists favourite Betws-y-Coed within easy reach, both offering great walking opportunities. Historic Conwy, and the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno are also easily accessible. Beach 10 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
